Does God Give Us More Than we can Handle?

The old adage, “No, God doesn’t give us more than we can handle.” isn’t quite correct. A recent scripture was tossed in my face that made me think twice. Many thanks to http://www.theanonymousjesus.wordpress.com for reminding me of a scripture and having me take a deeper look into this. The scripture he supplied me with was out of II Corinthians in Chapter 1 verses 1-8. Let us take a look!

“We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers.” – 2 Corithians 1:8-11

I didn’t want to sound like a baby most of my life but it just seemed that I was always under constant pressure from one arena to the next. Every season of my life something new was pressurizing me but I figured it for the good, which it is, but we should remember to be loving towards those who seem to be struggling at certain moments.

The next time we have a pressurizing feeling we should take a step to our left and let God handle the situation and just enjoy the ride. I know this is very simply said vs being done so let us be patient with one another in the things we endure.

Unifying the Body

How is it we can once again unify the body of Christ? I ask this because it has been on my heart for the last month is mourning about how the body of Christ is split into different sects of the city. Why can’t we just have one massive assembly? Why not, at least, once in awhile have a massive assembly.. what about just once a year?

How could we unify the body of Christ? Is it possible that the leaders of every sect could gather themselves into a room and decide on this without festering over each other. Is it possible for the church to love itself again?

Now just imagine for a second that these churches did unify and had a massive assembly once a year. Could you imagine the onlookers? The look of awe on their faces when they look to see a sea of faces of God’s people?

You know what I can’t wait about Heaven? It is this very thing! Imagine being amidst each other in a crowd of billions if not a trillion people in Heaven singing praises. How amazing this would be.

Take a second to think about if the church would unify once a month and it happened outside. Take a second to think about all the non-believers who would actually think, “maybe there is something to this” as they drive by. How many new lives would be saved do you think?

Let us bring hope to people’s lives again. Anyone else sick of just being enclosed in a building far off away from others where no one can see in? I know I am. I am ready for a mass flood of God’s people to just praise him outdoors among the nations. Just come together and rejoice. How cool it would be to be an all day thing once a month. Like a concert going continually with speakers here and there. Oh happy days.

Breakthrough vs Stay-through

Breakthrough, breakthrough, we need a breakthrough! Well, I’m am happy for all those who stay-through and keep pushing to the breakthrough stage. I once heard a pastor, probably ill advised in hype, tell people they need to quit needing a breakthrough.

Listen, breakthroughs are an amazing thing. But if you hear a teaching telling you that you don’t, well, it is probably safe to say they don’t know what they’re talking about! We wouldn’t need breakthroughs if we didn’t have stay-throughs. Not everyone is a hypochondriac. I’ve heard a lot of ill advise from preaching growing up but this one reminded was brought back to memory about three days ago and it came back to correct my thinking. Yes, I have given in and trusted 110% in what pastors had to say just to be burned in the future and then have God correct me. Funny thing is I didn’t give much heed to this word from the pastor but it obviously still stuck in my subconscious.

A breakthrough is such an amazing thing. What breakthrough did I get you wonder? I spent the better part of a week reading and rereading about trade options on the stock market until it finally just clicked. I felt so elated and relieved and for the most part happy then made $100 off $65. Amazing stuff. It reminds me of the parable of the talents. May I please the Lord to be smart enough to rule over things He gives to me. To each one according to their abilities. Amazing stuff. What are your abilities? What are you pushing through? Where do you need a breakthrough? Would love to hear from you guys!

The Importance of Attending Church

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together…”

We need each other in one way or another. The only place we really assemble anymore in mass is a church building. Which is fine, but, the reason I believe people stop going to church is because it can be superfluous.

What do you mean by that?

I’m not saying what we are doing is wrong per say.. although I don’t believe in the announcements, singing, preaching then go home approach in a controlled manner. First of all the trinity isn’t a control freak and the HS flows at His will. Most modern day churches miss it and I think it is causing a dark ages for the church. Now, I’m not saying that announcements, worship, and preaching is wrong. Far from it but the way it is done can be quite boring. Some churches do have an awesome worship time and do let the HS flow. But the majority as I have seen while moving throughout the USA is substantially boring and not challenging at all with worship music that died in the 1800’s.

Now back to point. What is the importance in attending then? Even if all these things are true and it seems to be a drag?

A lot of God’s fire people have left the church. Wonderful people that live out loud have simply stopped attending because they don’t like the agenda. But, we need to get over ourselves in that manner because without going then nothing can be done that is well for the Lord within a church atmosphere. It almost makes us, “lukewarm” in a sense and we know what happens then. Furthermore, we are inclined by God to keep gathering with His people to exhort each other for the day is surely coming. Keep each other lifted up.

We’re missing teachers, we’re missing the prophetic, we’re missing the apostles, we’re missing the evangelists but we are outnumbered with pastors everywhere. Are pastors the only ones that have remained faithful to the church?

“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers…”

Hello! Please come back!

“to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up”

..but I found the prophets hiding in their own homes..

“until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”

Doesn’t it seem so far out of reach? Have we really let the world’s competition get in the middle of church? Have we really chastised each other out? Have we really squashed each other in the name of exhortation? Have we really kicked out the prophets and put them in hiding? Have we really settled for teaching of the simple things? Have we turned down the meat of the scripture? Have we really tried to organize the Holy Spirit? Have we really tried to say 30 minutes of worship is enough? Have we really given into the NFL instead of God? Have we really given into the need for people to have to be home vs gathered? Has this generation really missed the point?

We should forgive each other and reunite. It’d do the kingdom wonders. Press on saints!

Does God hear the prayers of unbelievers?

Does God hear the prayers of unbelievers?

In short, yes.

Let me explain my reasoning behind this. Humans are spirits inside flesh capsules that eventually die and then rot. All of us are born as life. Life has a connection to the supreme being whether your heart is hardened or not and we see this a lot during times of stress. We send out an abundant amount of stress signals! The Bible says that even our groans are utterances to God that are helped on by the HS to deeply express ourselves unto Him. Everyone groans.

Believer or not it seems that the scriptures speak saying, “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.'” in Romans 14:11 and other places. Therefore our spirits do know Him regardless of how our souls acknowledge Him.

But what is the point? Why do you think God hears the prayers of all the unbelievers as well?

The reason I know this is because God never gives up on anyone of us and wishes that none should perish. That is also scripture. He doesn’t say, well, they don’t believe in me so quit trying to reach them. He doesn’t say, they’re mean to me and now I want nothing to do with them. No, he loves us all and works with us consistently throughout life wanting the best for each and everyone of us. Remember, when it rains, it rains on the unjust the same way as it rains on the just. The perception to receive it? That is entirely different.

Skydiving (Tandem)

Recently, I just went skydiving for the first time ever! It was amazing and I suggest everyone to at give it a try at least once in life. It cost me 225 USD where I am located and was worth every penny.

My journey on the plane to the time we jumped was incredibly insane. The ride took 20 minutes just to get to jump height.

It was a beautiful mid-summer day with a slight breeze of about 10 mph. My significant other and I sat in the hangar awaiting our turn to put the jump gear on. The energy in the place was filled with excitement and uncertainty as a lot of people were there to jump for the first time. In the back corner of the hangar was a couple of couches with a television set for people to watch their jump, err.. more like their screaming faces all the way down. It was funny to see and watch the reactions of those who had already partook in their skydiving journey.

My excitement increased after watching several people land on the ground from their jump as I impatiently waited. Finally, it was our turn. An instructor called us over and began to teach us the basics of what to expect and do.

“Who here has jumped before?” the instructor asked. “No one, okay, well great and welcome!” After he went through his spiel on the safety harness and what everything was for, he made a couple of funny comments that were life saving, but he made sure they would stick in our minds through comedy. The instructor looked at all of us and said, “Concerning our arms and how to hold them out just remember it isn’t superman,” whilst posing for all to see, “and it isn’t Jesus on the cross. It’s super Jesus! But…” the instructor continued, “…the main thing to remember is to keep your pelvis pushed forwards to maintain a center of gravity. Keep your hips thrust towards the ground. Legs back and arms out like super Jesus!”

Shortly after the speech, it was time for my significant other and and I to jump. We walked down towards the little tiny plane and our tandem instructors checked our gear once more to made sure everything was snug and fit properly. We boarded the plane and at 6’2″ that wasn’t exactly easy. Just like our gear we all fit snug within the cabin of the plane’s floor. I had the awesome door view which in due time would rattle for the next 20 minutes as we flew higher and higher into the air.

Once we were all in safe and snug, the pilot started to do his round onto the runway where we began to take off. To my surprise the door was kept open all the way down the runway until a little bit after takeoff. Note to the reader, I was sitting about an inch or two from the open door, It was kind of cool though! I Watched the tires spin down the runway until the plane had enough speed to lift off.

Once we were in the air we began making rounds in circles until we reached 10,000 feet.

39536100_1929852060407797_6924576987369439232_oIt seemed to last forever but when we reached height my instructor asked me to lean over away from the door. He unlatched the door and began to fist hammer it until it opened. It caught me by surprise at first, then I felt inclined to help, although by that time the door popped open and the wind began roaring inside the plane.

“Put your foot on the running board,” my instructor told me. “Okay…” I responded while slowly placing my foot out the door. The wind grabbed my leg and torqued it to the side really quick but I soon reached the step to stand upon. Getting my second foot out there was well, quite testy. “Let go of the door! Let go of the door!” my instructor was yelling in my ear. “My second foot..” is all I got out of my mouth when my instructor removed my hand from the door frame. “Just lay back.” he said as I felt him shift his weight out the door. I quietly said to myself just then and there, “What the hell am I doing?”

Then my instructor jumped! And after that.. well.. take a look.

Batman Will Save Tesla (TSLA)

If people look into TSLA a bit more you may notice that Elon was sending out the bat signal! Apparently the US Gov’t didn’t see this coming but it looks like they fell right into his hands. Whatever the problem is… only looks like Bruce Wayne can fix it!

That or Elon is just a fanboy of Gotham and the next season has been released on Netflix.

Your Adversaries Never Win in the End

There is a time and/or times in all of our lives that someone loses their minds on us. What do we do in these moments helps define who we are becoming. Life utterly seems like a mess at times and more of a test than anything else. We have to act groomed and proper at work, outside of work, sometimes at home, at family gatherings, on vacation, etc. But what do you do when some goes irate and the action is directed towards you?

I ask you to sit back and take a moment and dwell on the heat of moments throughout your life and how you handled them. What was the best way of handling these moments?

I’ve learned for myself overtime that simply being quiet and letting everything absorb before allowing myself to reply has helped best. I used to be a fiery kid who would just simply yell back but that isn’t who I want to be. I don’t want to be controlled by the emotions of others and their ‘problems’ within the heat of the moment whether that problem is something I caused, did, didn’t do, etc.

I ask everyone one of us to love ourselves in these moments when the heat is being poured on because at that moment we’re the only ones loving ourselves. Whether or not we may be to blame you should never accept being screamed at as a solution. Yes, it’ll happen but how do you respond? Retreat within yourself and find that compassion for yourself. Try not to live out of your emotions but by who you know yourself to be and when it is time to reply, if need be, give a compassionate reply. Not for them but for you.

Oftentimes people are confused by why they’re instructed to be nice to others, to not commit adultery, to be clean, etc. It never was about the other person. It was always about us as individuals. How do you respect yourself? What memories do you want to give yourself? Do you chance heartbreak? Do you chance a negative reputation? What is it you really want in life?

Well I tell you today, regardless of how your adversaries treat you up front, they will never win in the end. In the end we are defined by how we have presented ourselves and by our individual accomplishments. In the end, it is just us, no adversaries. Take joy and peace in this.

Learn. Grow. Love. Most of all enjoy life and don’t let anyone get you down!
